It's time to hit the hard wood. After a tough, long football season, it's time to find out if the Pac 10 can have the same success they finally had in football season ... Going 5-0 in bowls shut up a lot of critics. Still, most pundits are saying that this is going to be a down year for the Pac 10 in basketball too... sound familiar?
So, this year, if you don't mind, I figure I will do another power ranking for basketball, just like football, only there will be a twist. This year, I will compose two power rankings...
1. The National Power 10
2. The Pac Power 10
This should make it interesting in that it will include a lot of teams not normally included... Duke, North Carolina, Gonzaga, etc. To add, if a Pac 10 team is good enough, they might be able to slip into both polls, but it won't be easy since it's only dealing with the ten best teams nationally.
As with the football power rankings, I will be looking primarily at who is playing the best ball at the time, and will be trying to ignore, for the most part, the AP rankings.
Look for the first installment sometime between tonight and the next couple of days.
Cheers,
