Ok, as the beat continues, and we continue to see surprises in Pac 10 play, I'll try not to screw it up so bad as I attempt to look accurately at what the teams did!

This week, we see a new #1 as the hottest team in the Pac 10, Arizona, has won four straight. We also see a new cellar-dweller as the Oregon schools creep out of the bottom two spots due to their not-do-poor performances this week. So here we go...

1. Arizona (LW #3)

You win four games in a row and knock of the #1 team in the Pac 10 in the process, you'll find yourself occupying the top spot. In an inconsistent Pac 10, two teams are gaining some consistency.

2. California (LW #1)

The other consistent team in the Pac 10, is the other team with some senior leadership. Cal continues to impress me, despite their road loss to Arizona this week.

3. UCLA (LW #5)

UCLA seems to be playing quite a bit better. Despite their road loss to Oregon, they came back strong to handle Oregon State. I gave them the nod for the #3 spot because ASU, who had a good win over a weak Stanford team, got handled at home pretty easily by Cal, who UCLA beat.

4. Arizona State (LW #4)

Just a couple weeks ago, ASU was at #1. Then, they lost to Arizona. After another loss to Cal, ASU appears to be making a comeback with a blowout win over Stanford. Still, we need to take a wait and see attitude since their defense has not been paying as good as it once was.

5. Washington (LW #8)

Who cares about the destruction of Seattle U... this has nothing to do with that. UW destroying Washington State was quite impressive, so they move up three sports to #5.

6. Southern Cal (LW #2)

Last week, nobody looked stronger than USC, but we are quickly learning that nobody can play on the road, and after back to back road losses against the Oregon schools, they dropped four spots.

7. Oregon (LW #10)

Last week, it couldn't get any worse for Oregon. Not only losing five in a row, but getting beaten handily didn't do much for their confidence. We'll see how back to back home wins against the LA schools can help for their future.

8. Washington State ( LW #6)

This time WSU really does deserve to be #8. That loss to UW was UGLY. Let's see if Wazzu can regroup as they get the Arizona schools at home.

9. Oregon State (LW #9)

OSU still doesn't seem to have any thunder behind their game, but they still pull off the upset from time to time. The win over USC was big, but until they learn to string together a couple good games, OSU is destined for the bottom half of the Pac 10.

10. Stanford (LW #7)

What can I say, Stanford was competitive against UA, for a while, but then they got hammered by an ASU team that is struggling right now, so for this week, Stanford earns the honor of being the worst in the Pac.
